WHITNEY VANGRIN

Whitney Vangrin is an artist based in New York, working across mediums with an emphasis on performance. Equal parts physical and psychological, her performances question perceptions of authenticity while making allusions to film, religion, dance, and structures of the body. In performance, the reality of the performer’s body and emotion is situated in a scene that hinges upon realism and construction. Vangrin was a founder and director of 1:1, an NYC non-profit arts space project. Her work has been shown at MoMA PS1, Issue Project Room, ICA London, among other locations around the United States and abroad.

KK NULL

KK Null (Kazuyuki Kishino, b. 1961 in Tokyo) is one of the pioneers of Japanese noise and has been a leading figure in experimental music since the early 1980s. While associated with noise, he also explores music terrains, including experimental, rock, electro-acoustic, and post-hardcore. Since the late 90s, he has been concentrating his efforts on exploring the outer territories of electronica. In the early 90s, KK Null gained worldwide recognition as the mastermind, guitarist, and singer of the progressive hardcore band Zeni Geva, releasing five albums produced by Steve Albini (two on Jello Biafra's Alternative Tentacles label) and a few more on other labels such as Neurosis’s Neurot Recordings. Zeni Geva recorded twice for the John Peel Sessions on BBC and toured extensively throughout Europe, the USA, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan, playing hundreds of concerts. KK Null has featured as a performer or composer on more than 100 releases. He has collaborated with artists including Merzbow, Z'ev, Chris Watson, Keiji Haino, Jon Rose, John Zorn, Matmos, and Fred Frith. He has performed at dozens of music festivals around the world.
