Peter McLeavey Pop-Up Gallery
Legendary Wellington art dealer Peter McLeavey Gallery has a pop-up gallery now running at 47 Webb Street, just off Cuba Mall. The space contains works by some of New Zealand's best contemporary artists, including Yvonne Todd, Richard Killeen, Ava Seymour, Matt Hunt, John Reynolds, Peter Robinson, Robin White and Bill Hammond. Killeen and Reynolds have created site-specific works especially for the project. Also showing are works by American artists Barbara Kruger, Sherrie Levine and Julien Schnable.
Peter McLeavey Gallery is New Zealand's longest running dealer gallery. It is unique among dealer galleries for the role it has played in cultivating talent and fostering dialogue around New Zealand art. The gallery has been an integral part of New Zealand's art community since 1968. Peter McLeavey Gallery was the first-ever advertiser in White Fungus. The gallery served as a mentor and inspiration for White Fungus during its challenging first few years.
Peter McLeavey Pop-Up is located at 47 Webb Street and runs for the next three months. Opening hours are, Wednesday to Friday, 12-6pm, and Saturdays, 11am – 4pm.
